Boarding

Hammond Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge provides a safe haven for pets who need a place to stay while their family is away. In addition to being a complete animal medical facility, we offer the perfect boarding solution for pet parents who prefer to have veterinary supervision for their furry family members.

At Hammond Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge, we take pride in our clean and secure boarding facilities that accommodate both dogs and cats. We maintain separate quarters for our canine and feline friends to ensure a stress-free stay for all visitors. Our climate controlled indoor kennels accommodate both large and small dogs and are roomy enough to allow for exercise as well as snoozing. Dogs are walked four times a day to play and take care of business. Our canine companions are provided with beds and blankets; however, pet parents are welcome to bring treats, beds, blankets, and toys from home–with the exclusion of rope toys.

Our feline lodgers have roomy cages for stretching out and catnapping and are supplied with cozy beds, blankets and litter boxes. Our feline friends receive individualized attention at least twice a day, and have a window so they can see what’s happening outside. We have individual kennels for single cats and condos available for families of up to 3 cats.

We feed all of our boarded animals Hill’s Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and Skin unless food is provided from home. Our kennel staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted.

All boarding guests must be current on vaccines for their own protection and for the safety of other boarders and patients. Additionally, any visiting pets that are not parasite free will be treated during their stay.

If you live in Hammond, or any surrounding communities in Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, or Livingston parishes, and you need a home away from home for your four-legged friends, bring them to Hammond Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge, and we’ll take good care of them for you. When you board with us, you can have peace of mind while you’re away knowing that your pets are safe and well cared for.

Please call today to make your pet’s boarding reservation. We recommend booking a spot in advance since we tend to fill up quickly during holidays and popular vacation times.
